San Antonio

So our first week here we were able to explore the city a little! Here are a few pictures from our adventures!

This is a kangaroo that was napping at the San Antonio Zoo. It looked like it had been hit by a car or something. There were really cute little baby roos but our camera was dying and would not take any more pictures.

Here is a bear that was walking really funny. I read the sign and it said that the bears are really old and show signs of aging because they are able to live a lot longer in captivity than out in the wild. It was kind of sad because he looked like he had arthritis or something. He was really close to the edge of the rocks in his cage and I was worried he was going to fall off! Poor old thing!

This is Nick and I at Rainforest Cafe on the Riverwalk in San Antonio. I really loved going to this restaurant in Florida at Downtown Disney and Nick had never been. We went with my dad the night before he went home after helping us move our stuff across the country- thanks dad!!

This is a blurry picture of the Riverwalk. This picture really doesn't do it justice but it was hard for Nick to walk and take a picture at the same time because you are so close to the river and he didn't want to fall in! I am sure we will be going back sometime soon and we will take more pictures!!

This is a picture of the front of the Alamo. It closed about five minutes after we got there but it was a cute little area right in the middle of the city! We will have to go back and explore a little more.
So far it has been so fun exploring a new city and I can't wait to see more of it. I already know how to get to my favorite mall and chick-fil-a. What more do I need?!!

Christmas

Christmas this year was spent mostly snowed in Sweet Home and Vancouver. The weather was crazy but we had a lot of fun times. There are no pictures from Christmas in Vancouver, I think everyone was pictured out after the wedding, but here are a few pics from Sweet Home.

Here are their best Kung Fu Panda moves. Noah says he is the Tiger, but a boy. and Nick is just being himself. Aren't they intimidating?!

Cora, Noah and I watching movies!

Cora and her new dress on Christmas Eve.

Noah and his new chef apron along with the muffins he is going to be making!

Here is Frosty. It is Nick's new friend he created on the back porch.
We had tons of fun visiting family for Christmas and hope that we can all be together again soon!

Too many posts

That might be enough posts for one day. Can you tell I am excited that I finally have my internet back? I still have a few more posts to catch up to where we are at now. The truck arrived this morning with all of our things and Nick and I moved everything into our apartment. Without any help I was left to carry couches and heavy tables up the stairs. Needless to say I cannot move because I am very sore so internet is the only thing to keep me from going crazy looking at all the boxes that need to be unpacked. I will probably post more tomorrow. Goodnight for now!

Will and Peggy

Congratulations Will and Peggy! On December 19th Nick and I attended their wedding in the Portland, Oregon LDS Temple. The ceremony was beautiful! We then met up with Peggy at her reception. It was great to see some old friends and catch up with everyone. We are so excited for them!!

Baking for Christmas

We went to Grandpa's house to make goodies for Christmas. He gave me all sorts of recipes for the cookies and candies that he usually makes and lessons so we can make them ourselves! Here is jen with her very first fudge! Can you tell she is very proud!!

Next, Jen and I are eating cookies and making Turtles.

Here is Grandpa supervising my skills in transfering the turtles to their special boxes!

Ta-dah! They are finished and ready to get into their decorative holiday boxes! Notice I could not do any baking without my dr pepper close by.

We had a lot of fun and definitely not enough time! There is always next year!!

Jenn's Birthday

Happy Birthday Jenn!! December 16th we celebrated at the Melting Pot in Portland with Dad and Kalen. Here are some pics throughout the night- Check out the yummy desserts we got to dip in the delicious chocolate! Just for Jen's 21st we got a chocolate fondue that had rum in it and to burn it off he created flame for ms pyro too!

Mr and Mrs Alexander

Lee and Erin got married! December 13th at St. Mary's Cathedral in Portland. It was a beautiful wedding and I am so happy for them! Here are a few pictures from throughout the day.
This is my favorite picture from the entire day. It was taken right when Erin got into her dress and stood all the way up with her veil on. She had the biggest smile and you could tell she was so excited to get married!

Here is brother before the wedding, he is putting on the watch he just recieved from Erin as his grooms gift. As you can see the boys were dressed and ready long before the girls, they even had time for a little lunch and relaxation!

Jenn and I before the wedding just waiting while we took the bridesmaid photos!

During the ceremony. Erin's dress was so pretty, especially the back, because of the beautiful train. Lee didn't look so bad either! (I still can't get over how badly the blues in his outfit clash- come on Army, fix them!!)

Here are the bridesmaids! I don't have a picture with the Matron of Honor but she looked great too!

Here are all the boys! (minus lee)

Reception time! This is a picture of one of the bouqets and two of their wedding favors (music clef ornaments) that Jenn arranged into a cute little heart.

The siblings- two down, one to go! I can tell this is at the very beginning because I was still atempting to wear my heels.

Cake! It was very good, Nick tried three out of the four kinds! His favorite was the Lemon, no surprises there!

Sitting and resting the feet. Those heels on marble floor didn't work out so well towards the end of the night. Oh and notice the glasses- I have recently been going blind and had to put them on because they turned down the lights for dancing. I didn't escape the family curse of bad eyesight after all.

Nick teaching my mom some very classic dance moves. She was laughing so hard she can barely keep up!
Overall it was a great day/night! It was really nice to see family and old family friends and especially great to see that Lee and Erin were able to have such a beautiful ceremony. Congrats Mr and Mrs Alexander!
