Christmas 2010

This Christmas we spent here in San Antonio. It was really fun to relax and watch Logan enjoy his new toys while we played all of our new games!

We all got new pj's on Christmas Eve! Nick got some cool tools for Christmas as well as some clothes and games. And he can use all of his new tools to remodel our upstairs bathroom with the deals we scored at Lowe's (90% off) on the vanity and faucet. He also has grand plans to make a built in downstairs for our tv. We will definitely post about the projects when we have time to get to them!

Good morning! I am pretty sure Logan was a little confused about what we were doing. He was content just staring at the lights so we gave him his gifts one at a time throughout the day and he was really excited about the ones that played music. He loved the jumper but he could only play in it a short time because he had to put his boots back so mostly he was just content to watch us play with our new toys.

I got a ton of board/card games (my favorite!) as well as some of the new Wii games. I have been wanting Donkey Kong for Super Nintendo every since Nick and I got married and Nick had his Super Nintendo. When I was younger I loved playing that game but for some reason we only ever rented it. So I have looked at game stores and online but never really found one for a good price. Fast forward to this Christmas and they came out with a new version on Wii! So Nick got it for me and I love it! It is super fun just like the old one!

Logan loves his new jumper that he got! We took mostly videos on Christmas and for some reason Blogger does not like them so these are pretty much all the pics we have!

Family Pictures and Sundays in December

While my Mom was in town we had her bring her camera to take pictures of the three of us and then we almost completely forgot. Just an hour before she left we went outside and got a few shots. Here are some of them! Logan was not being his usual smiley self so we got some interesting faces from him. Enjoy!

Continuing our weekly pictures here are three of the Sunday's in December.

Sunday December 12th

Sunday December 19th

In the pictures above Logan is wearing the very first clothing item we bought when we found out we were having a boy! It is still my favorite thing he has and I wish we would have bought it in all sizes! We even decided to make his room those colors because we liked them so much. It is still a little big on him but I want him to wear it more than once so we started early!

Sunday December 26th

I love how this picture is so bright and it was taken the day after Christmas! Got to love the warm winters!!

Thanksgiving and Grandparents!

For Thanksgiving Nick's parents came to visit! It was great for Thanksgiving because Nick had people to eat all the treats and sides with him since my diet is a little bland these days. We had lots of fun and Nick and his Dad even got a project done- they installed a new light above the garage and replaced the other outside lights. Logan loved playing with his grandparents and we can't wait for them to come back to visit!

This is the light right outside the front door. They put a matching one above the garage and one for the back patio too. I will have to take more pictures because they look great!!

Just a few days after Nick's parents left my mom came to visit! We spent lots of time trying to do crafts and entertaining Logan. My mom brought her Cricut and we connected it to the computer and designed a bunch of stuff to cut but never got time to finish it! We also made grand plans for about thirty other crafts we are going to make for next Christmas' decorations. That means she has to come back soon!

(Above) This is one of the only pics I can find of my mom and Logan from the trip! What the heck?! I swear we took more! I think Logan looks super funny like a sneaky elf or something!

Here are photos of the windows my mom decorated for us while she was here! When we were younger my mom would always paint the front window with a Christmas scene and I loved it so she did our windows this year!

Sundays in November

We started taking pictures of Logan every Sunday to see how he grows. Here are some of the pics from November!

Halloween

For Halloween we celebrated by carving pumpkins, watching Nightmare Before Christmas with friends and going to our wards Trunk-or-Treat. For our costumes we dressed Logan up as a penguin and Nick and I put on blue polos and Sea World name tags. We decorated the trunk like the penguin exhibit and put Logan in it. He was pretty tired though and he pretty much slept through the whole thing. We did win most creative trunk so it was pretty fun!

Here are the pumpkins we made! And by "we" I mean Nick because I gave up carving my Mike after like ten minutes. We did Mike and the skull the night before we took this pic so they are already pretty droopy. I guess that is what you get when they sit out in 85 degree weather all day in Texas. Logan's Stitch pumpkin turned out pretty good though. On Halloween night we spent time with neighbors and friends making sugar cookies decorating them. It was a pretty fun but I cant wait for Logan to be big enough to take him trick or treating around the neighborhood!

Entry Table

Nick's saw! He finally got to use it to make me an entry table. Do you like his workbench? It is the piece of foam the saw came with. Very classy. He is still planning how he wants to make his workbench so until then it will sit on the foam. Below are pics of the bench he made a few weekends ago. It was a really simple project and didn't cost much for the materials. I am completely obsessed with the website Remodelaholic right now and want to make everything on there so we started with this console table.

The pics aren't great since they are from my phone but it is nice looking. I am thinking of spray painting it black because I think the stain is a little too country for me. Plus then we wouldn't have to move the temple picture above it because it would match better. I am leaving it alone for a bit to see if the current color grows on me. Below is the smaller table we got at goodwill and spray painted black. I really like the semi gloss of it so if I decide to change the other table it will be this color.

We are expecting to do a few more projects in the near future (including finishing Logan's room) so more posts to come! Here are some of the projects were are hoping to do; a bathroom mirror frame, a headboard (maybe this one or this one), a laundry pedestal, and maybe even this entertainment center!

Card Table House

This is the project Nick and I have been working on lately! Some good friends of ours have the cutest little girl who turned two and we decided to make her a card table house for her birthday! So we got all the supplies and then Logan came early so we took a little longer to complete it than we thought but here it is! It is a pretty basic house and we even left the back blank so things could be added on later. The first picture is the front of the house with a mail slot and fake window. The door rolls up and ties. The flowers, fruit and bugs are all buttoned on so they can be interchanged.

This is one of the sides. The window has buttons allowing it to be opened or closed.

Here is the last side which has the tree and fruit and then one button for a bug.

Then we made these little letters so that she can slip them in the mail slot. Also instead of making it closed we opted for ribbon closures on all the sides. That way it fits over more tables and will fold up easily. Also, sides can be lifted up completely if needed. Overall we had a ton of fun making the house and we learned how to use almost every function on the sewing machine. Now we need to start planning for Logan's future playhouse!
