The house passed! The inspection went really really well and we are very very excited to close! Sorry for all the house posts but get used to it because there will be a few more before the end of the next month! Now our next hurtle is deciding when to lock in the interest rate. Decisions, decisions....
As for other news..... tomorrow is my Half Birthday!! Nick and I are having a few friends over to celebrate and then on Friday is Nick's Half Birthday so we are going out for lunch! The main reason we are celebrating is that we were moving on our birthdays this year and didn't really get to have any fun. In fact, my birthday was spent waking up in a motel in Roswell, NM and then driving for 10 hours and finding another motel to crash at! So we are making up for it this week!

Inspection Time
We found a house! We are anxiously awaiting the inspection at the beginning of next week so we can find out if we want to invest in it. If all goes well we will be closing on the fourteenth and moving in on the eighteenth! We are very excited that we are getting closer and closer to owning our first home. We have already been checking out refridgerators, washers, dryers, microwaves and lawn mowers ! It is fun to pick out what we like but we realized just how expensive it is to buy appliances. Good thing we are getting a good chunk of change from the government for buying a house this year! If everything goes well I will post some pics of our new house asap!
Also, We are really excited for my mom and sister to come visit. They are visiting at the perfect time because they will get to see our apartment and our house. Not to mention they will be able to help us clean, move and unpack. They are in for a real treat!

Todays Happenings
So we finally got batteries for our cameras and here are some pics from today. This morning we went down to the club house to pick up a package and this is what we found!! My grandparents sent us some Florence's chocolate "just because". Isn't that sweet! 2 lbs of chocolatey goodness!
While I was putting the final touches on our pita chip crunch Nick was busy trying to beat all the levels of Guitar Hero III on "Hard". As you can tell from his face, he is serious about beating this level! I love that we have two guitars so we can play together. It makes it a lot more fun.
Our fun filled day is wrapping up with a BBQ with some friends! Also, we are still waiting to hear back about our offer on a house here in San Antonio. We really hope everything goes well but if not then we will just keep looking! Wish us luck!

A few weeks have gone by...
Sorry about the lack of posts lately. Here are a few key reasons why I have not been posting:
1- I had a cold for a bit and so we just stayed home and caught up on all of our tv shows thanks to hulu, abc.com and netflix on xbox live2- We are still house hunting, so often we spend our days going through MLS searches from the realtor or actually visiting the homes
2- Our friends (you know who you are) got us hooked on guitar hero so we have been spending a lot of time mastering the levels
3- We have discovered the new night and summer shows along with the water park at Sea World
4- Did I mention we are house hunting? Houses are expensive, so are a lot of the fun activities... guess we will stick with sea world season passes, board games and guitar hero with our friends!
5- Oh and our digital cameras don't have batteries because we keep using all the rechargeable batteries in our controllers so no pics have been taken recently!
The reasons I haven't blogged pretty much sum up our last few weeks. Except, I have been able to use my new pots and they are fabulous!!!! Oh what a difference a good set can make! Thanks again to everyone who recommended different pots and pans! Oh and we are still patiently awaiting requests to come visit us now that we have a spare bed. Just let us know so we can move all the boxes out of the room first. Hopefully the next post will be more eventful. I actually have a few ideas for adventures in the coming weeks so hopefully I will remember my camera!

Memorial Day Weekend Sales
Shopping! Today we finally went shopping for new pots and pans. We have needed new ones for a while now but have been waiting for a good sale. So we went to Dillards and got some Emeril stainless steel pots and pans which were a really good deal. Unfortunately there were no non-stick pans that we liked. I am a little nervous to use the stainless steel but Nick is excited because we no longer have "cancer pots" as he likes to call them.
We were also able to get a really good deal on a bed for our spare room. Now when friends and family come to visit they will have something to sleep on! So I guess that means you guys can all come and visit now!! We even got a super good deal on a sheet set! Now we just have to work out how to get it all home. We were about to tie it to the top of the car but then it started pouring down rain. Guess we will have to pick it up next week.

There were some good deals at Old Navy but they were pretty much cleaned out (no $1 flip flops for me) by the time we got there. Nick was able to get a red shirt (required for work on tuesday) for only $6 and a polo shirt for only $10. He has to wear plain shirts to work, and he has a lot of graphic t's that he can't wear, so I was excited he will have more variety for work now!
Overall we had a pretty good shopping day! We still haven't decided on anything fun to do for Monday. I am worried that anywhere we want to go will just be packed with people! If you have any fun suggestions let us know!

Time Flies
So I am finally getting caught up on last week! Monday we had our anniversary dinner and then as a present for Nick for our anniversary I got him tickets to see the new Star Trek in the IMAX theater at the Palladium. The movie was actually good which suprised me. I have spent most of my life trying very hard to not have to watch a Star Trek movie but for Nick I went and it kept my attention so I guess it was a success. It was fun to see it on the IMAX screen and I think that we will always go there to see any other action movies because it makes them so much better.
Thursday I went to Pass the Plate (a relief society activity for my ward) and learned how to make some really good stir fry dishes all authentic like. I really should make it for nick one of these nights! We were able to watch the lady cook in her outdoor kitchen and show us all the tricks. I of course have mosquito bites up and down my legs because I always get bit! Other than that it was pretty fun!
On Friday I went with some friends to the outlet malls in San Marcos. I love shopping! I got one pair of bermuda shorts and a pair of capris because I can no longer wear pants. It is very very hot and humid! I also got a really cute Williams and Sonoma apron! I have been searching for a cute apron for a while now so I was excited to see they had their summer ones on sale!
Over the weekend we had lots of fun with friends! Movies and games combined with food is always a hit. We made some really good chocolate heath bar ice cream in our ice cream maker and have already gotten the ingrediants to do it again!
That brings us to this week- yesterday I finally got my package in the mail of all my products I ordered from Melaleuca and I am very excited to start using all of them!
Tonight I will be going to Chester's Hamburgers with some girls from the ward. Their sign says they have the best burgers in sa so I am going to try it out and see!
Anniversary
So last week Nick and I had our third anniversary! We celebrated by going to The Tower of the America's for dinner. It is like the space needle of san antonio. It looks very similar and has the rotating restaurant at the top looking over downtown sa. The food was great and even though sa is no Seattle it was still a great view from the top!

Here is a pic of one of the roses from the dozen that Nick gave me for our anniversary!
